Writing from my university, woot!

So after a little while I am indeed back from my sabbatical from the blog. I’ve not been busy necessarily, just preoccupied with life and such. I’ve also been secretly promoting our blog once again through word-of-mouth, and thought that the promoter should at least write something… so there ya go.

In other news we should be getting a guest post from a different blog within this month, but this is not in stone whatsoever so keep your eyes peeled for that.

In partly related news we here at FFI have been keeping up-to-date with most gaming news and trends, and as an invested zombie fan and gamer I wanted to let all of you know that the indy-ish game company Undead Labs have been working on their game State of Decay (previously known as Class 3) for awhile now, with little in terms of a release date or any progress besides “we’re getting there!”. As of May 29th a random post on their blog gave the final release date (for the xbla version) of June 5th, or two days from this post. I’d give you the rundown of the game, but just check out their link:

As of the personal lives of the authors, lately Grimnir has moved away after finding a pretty sweet apartment deal, so things have been a bit more glum around the house unfortunately. Don’t think that this news has affected our religious pursuit, though, as I’ve been looking deeper into the lore of Norse Paganism, including a deeper knowledge of the runes that I could only do solo. My attunement (my own word) with the Gods, while tentative during the roughest of patches in my life, is slowly strengthening with study and time. While this may not be something earth-shattering to our readers, it is very important to me.

Lastly I’ve been collaborating with a co-worker on a possible series of short stories that I will, of course, post here for everyone to see. He’s kinda smart as all get-out, so maybe he can help me with aspects of a storyline that I am lacking. Who knows… this may even become a regular thing?

(for some reason I cannot add my sig to the bottom, so I am saving this to post it later of let Fisch post it for me! ERASE)

As a side note from FischFail… Sorry I was supposed to post this a week ago…

So it’s been almost two entire weeks since a post from anybody here, so you’re most likely wondering if we’re dead…

Don’t adjust your sets, because we’ve already been dead for years.

Even before it’s conception nearly two years ago, we were a blog murdered by the conventions of what a “real” blog should look like, be about, and contain within.

I, LuzObscuridad, will officially tell all of our faithful (yet dwindling) readers that we are not only dead, but UNdead…

That’s right kiddies, we’re a Zomblog…

What the fuck if a Zomblog, you ask? Well shut the hell up and I’ll tell you!

A Zomblog is less of a format and more of a concept; it’s what we’ve always known FFI to be, but never had a name for it.

Just like dead people, there is absolutely no expectations for our blog. Yet just like a zombie outbreak, we will continue to spread and grow in numbers, without heed toward tends, niches, or popularity. If you read our blog, you’ve already been infected – bitten in the carotid and now able to infect others. If you even offhandedly mention our little blog to a friend, family member, or (Gods forbid) member of the clergy, etc., you will get your first taste of human flesh, and spread our contagion through the masses! We’re a blog, a plague, an epidemic!

…and the most beautiful part? It’s all your fault…

There is no cure…

There is no preemptive vaccine…

You’re already dead…

Just like us at Fisch Fail, Inc.

Lastly, you also get a random-ass pic for all your disgustingly cannibalistic work…

The typical zombie.

So for the past couple weeks FFI has been ran ragged from various illnesses within the “home-base” (where most of us live) with Drezirale, ErinLTW and even Mr. Fail himself feeling like Death on a paper plate heated for about fifteen minutes in a half-broken microwave…

…but I digress.

This random man-blight seemed to attack everyone but yours trul… until now.

While I understand that the most likely outcome was that I have an immunity to their affliction but none to speak of for the newest infection.

That’s right… I am infected.

Don’t worry, I’ve already established an agreement that if I show any signs of zombification that I will be quickly dispatched of. So far no shambling (much Stumbling, but not much else) or craving of human viscera, while I feel as if I could rot away at any moment I’ve yet to putrify.

I suppose that this may come off as strange to those not versed in our ways (but if you’re a subscriber you may understand)…

We here at FFI are fully aware that zombies, to our knowledge, are fictional, but with our luck one of us would literally become Patient Zero. Could you imagine the FischFail Flu? One of us being this decade’s Mary Mallon? Once again going on a tangent…

I really don’t want to do anything… work… learn… move… think… and yet it is a necessary evil that may be overcome with some willpower (and zinc-supplement drops which taste like buckshot on a bad day). I think a may have accidentally infected dozens because I was too stupid to call off work.

Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllls I feel like shit… I also complain often when I am ill, so for this reason (and laziness) this may be my last post until I get better. I have a war within my body and who knows how long that will take? Hopefully with the armaments I’ve supplied my immune system I will be back before anyone even notices.

Okay I’m done typing…

A Battle of Wits

They approach… with gaping mouths lined with sanguine-coated teeth and grasping hands, grabbing for anything…

…grabbing for me.

I’m in my home, and my last line of defense. I’m alone, but at the same time I have friends.

…These friends will save me.

Born from the benevolent rays of the sun, the earth their womb, my friends will smite the ravenous hordes.

…But only if I protect them as well.

I use their lives to protect my own, the frontlines never giving way until consumed by our attackers. I shed a small tear for them, but they knew what was in the contract.

Soon an alarm gives way, and it indicates one last concentrated effort on the undead’s part to overtake my beautiful abode. One last card beneath my sleeve, and a massive explosion rocks the entirety of their attack. I survive, but my friends are used and quickly discarded, to be replaced the next day as another onslaught ensues.

rest in peace, my friend
